Our Book Clubs

We have the following regular book clubs:

  • Global Stories

    We read memoirs or fiction novels from different parts of the world. Sometimes, authors join the second half of the meeting.

  • Speculative Fiction

    We pick a speculative fiction book that expands our sense of what’s possible.

  • Cookbook Club

    Each participant picks a recipe from the selected cookbook and cooks it to share it with the group. Sometimes, authors also join the meeting.

  • Lamplighter Club

    A topic is picked and one fiction and one non-fiction book is recommended. Participants can read either. Discussion focuses on the topic so other reading materials are also welcome.

  • Feminist Bookclub

    It is based on the idea that part of living a feminist life includes close reading of feminist texts and learning with others. Each month, we pick a feminist book and meet to discuss key ideas.

Host Your Event

If you want to organize your event or your meeting at our bookstore, please feel free to reach out. We can fit up to 30 people in a seminar style set-up. More standing room. If using the outdoor space, then a LOT more

Organizing a private event? We may be available! Rates are up to $100 per hour. Please fill out this form.

For community-based organizations

If your event is non-ticketed and you are a community-based organization, we offer a sliding scale venue fee between $0-100 per hour. Please fill out this form.
